Maraya Gibson

Int'l Programming & Dev Assistant @ AMC
Sunday 2/7 @ 10:00am - 1:00pm PT

Sold Out - Waitlist Available

Particularly Great at and Interested In:

Hour-longs like: Gangs of London, Elite, Top Boy, Ozark, Snowfall, The Politician, The Magicians, Doctor Foster
Anything edgy and dramatic (with the necessary levity), well written, has lots of stakes, and tons of heart.

Half-hours like: Insecure, I May Destroy You, Atlanta. The half-hours need to have a very specific voice and a strong protag that capture hearts quickly and can lead a series to success.

Pitch Tips

Brief but warm introduction, dive into the pitch - explaining the world, characters, and pilot episode. Clear voice, confidence, and brevity is key!

About Your Host

Maraya Gibson raised in Southern California, was always a dedicated lover of independent film. She studied Cinema at San Francisco State, and specialized in Media & Culture. Afterwards, Maraya started interning and working at Film Independent, where she worked with tons of incredible filmmakers at the LA Film Festival, Spirit Awards, Director Forums and many more film programs that championed independent filmmaking. As episodic exploded, Maraya changed her focus to Premium Cable. She landed a job at Starz, and worked on shows like Vida, Outlander, Blindspotting and Black Mafia Family. Recently, she switched networks and now works at AMC in the International Programming & Development department. It was an incredible move because her department programs for a variety of networks (AMC, AMC+, Sundance Now, Sundance TV, and Acorn), does tons of co-productions, and is always looking for stellar content. Maraya's hoping to connect with authentic and passionate TV creators who are ready to make magic happen.
