Born and raised in Los Angeles, Luis Guerrero discovered his love of movies at a very young age and it became his favorite past time. His love of film led him to take acting courses while majoring in business administration at the University of Southern California. Deciding to learn the production and development side of the entertainment business, he landed internships with Scott Rudin Productions (STEVE JOBS, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN) and Zide/Perry Entertainment (AMERICAN PIE & FINAL DESTINATION franchises). This served as a significant point in his career, as he gained invaluable experience that further instilled his passion and love of films.
Soon after, he landed a job working in the mailroom at Industry Entertainment (THE PLAYER, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, 25TH HOUR, QUILLS), and was quickly promoted to assistant in the talent department working with high profile talent such as Angelina Jolie, Tobey Maguire, and Josh Brolin, among others. Deciding to explore the television side of the business, he joined Si TV as executive assistant to the CEO/Founder as the company was in the early stages of launching the now on-air Fuse TV channel.
It was there that he came across acclaimed film producer Moctesuma Esparza (SELENA, INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE) and joined him as his executive assistant at Maya Pictures. He served as Esparza’s right hand man on the HBO film WALKOUT. He then made the transition into producing films as executive producer of Sony/Screen Gem’s thriller, ARMORED, starring Matt Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, and Jean Reno. Recently, he produced the horror/thriller BENEATH US starring Lynn Collins and James Tupper, and is in post-production on the horror film YOU’RE NOT ALONE starring Katia Winter.
In his spare time, he is involved in such non-profit organizations as the National Organization of Latino Independent Producers, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Communities in Schools of Los Angeles.
