Roadmap Exclusive Interview!

Aside from a well-introduced world/hero, is there anything else you look for in the first 8-15 pages of a script?

I look for an enticing teasing, whether that be some well-done dialogue or some set up for the plot that requires me to know what the pages moving forward look like.

If you had to describe a writer’s “voice” in a few words, how would you describe it?

Subjectively, a writer's voice I look for is one that feels authentic. The writer doesn’t need to base their characters completely off their own lives but there need to be moments and experiences that I can read and feel like this was written by someone who has been through some form of that moment or who really crafted a genuine moment that someone can relate to.

If you could have been part of any movie or TV show that's been out in the past 2 years, what would it be?

CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA, THIS IS US, MARRIAGE STORY, IT CHAPTER 2.

About Your Host

Krista Sipp is a literary manager based out of Los Angeles. She and her partner, Devon Byers, founded First Friday Entertainment in 2017. First Friday is a management and production company representing writers, directors, and producers in the film, TV, and digital space. Originally from Connecticut, Krista started her career at management company Circle of Confusion in 2008. After holding positions at studios and production companies across the industry, she returned to Circle of Confusion in 2015 before moving on to launch her own company. Currently, Krista is focused on developing clients with fresh voices and diverse points of view. She loves to discover writers and directors from backgrounds that traditionally have been underrepresented in the entertainment industry and creating access for the stories they have to tell. Her clients have worked on projects such as A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW (HBO), KATY KEENE (CW), the upcoming independent feature TUNNELS, starring Susan Sarandon, as well as the upcoming Legendary Comics series LUPINA.
