Concept first, then structure and characters.
Since childhood, Jessica Jacobs has always had a fervent imagination for storytelling. While pursuing film and television at Loyola Marymount University, Jessica was fortunate to expand her taste by working for diverse companies including Weed Road Pictures (LONE SURVIVOR), Indian Paintbrush, (MOONRISE KINGDOM) A&E Networks, (BATES MOTEL) and Electric City Entertainment, (CAPTAIN FANTASTIC). She co-wrote, directed, and produced a number of short films, including Life In Text (starring Tyler Ritter and Alexandra Daddario) that gained rave reviews on Yahoo!, JustJared, NoFilmSchool.com, and Slashfilm. After college, Jess assisted the CEO & President of Echo Lake Entertainment (NEBRASKA). Simultaneously, Jessica became a Film Independent Incubator Lab fellow and was awarded a grant from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences for her filmmaking endeavors. In 2016, she moved over to Jeff Robinov's new studio, Studio 8, where she worked in the book department and sought out available material, up and coming filmmakers, and developed tentpole movies for global audiences. Next, she worked in post and on set with Paul Schiff on Netflix's HOW IT ENDS, starring Theo James and Forest Whitaker. She also brought Paul feature projects, one of which is a psychological thriller film currently in pre-production. Now, Jess is a Director of Development and Producer at Artillery Creative, an indie production and management company. Here, she brings in available film and TV projects, packages current projects, and works with Artillery's diverse literary clients.
