Pitch Tips

Avoid stereotypes and focus on evolved characters.

About Your Host

Elle Hughes is an NJ native and LA transplant, still searching for some decent Italian food on the West Coast. With a background in theatre and performing arts, Elle fell in love with how characters shape the world in which a story lives. For the last five years, she has worked as a reader for various major competitions and festivals, specifically honing in on why a script passes the first and second round. In addition to script consultancy, she has assisted directors of programming and creative executives in series development and feature production for multiple major studios and contracted production companies with first-look deals at Disney, NBCU, and Warner Bros.
