Doug Draizin is a seasoned entertainment industry veteran whose career has encompassed many aspects of the business. He has worked as a publicist, a talent agent, a personal manager, a film and television producer, a studio executive and a writer. Doug hails from Roslyn, New York where he earned a BFA from the New York Institute of Technology.
Draizin was a talent agent at the Agency for the Performing Arts where he represented Danny DeVito and John Candy among others; and discovered and launched the careers of Pee-wee Herman and Andrew Dice Clay. He later served as a vice president at both United Artists Pictures and Lorimar Films before venturing out as an independent producer and personal manager.
As a producer Draizin was responsible for Columbia Pictures’ FOOLS RUSH IN, a film loosely based on his own life. The film starred Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. Doug also produced SPY HARD starring Leslie Nielsen; and the independent dramedy, LOVE COMES TO THE EXECUTIONER starring Jeremy Renner. Additionally, he co-executive produced MOVING VIOLATIONS for 20th Century Fox; was an executive producer on the independent film A JERSEY CHRISTMAS and a co-producer on PURE COUNTRY 2.
In the world of television movies Doug co-executive produced KIDZ IN THE WOODS for NBC; executive produced SAFETY PATROL for ABC; and co-produced DAD’S WEEK OFF for Showtime. Draizin was the executive producer on AREA 52 for 20th TV (Animation) and FBC. He also executive produced the pilot TOM’S LIFE for 20th TV (animation) and FBC.
Doug is currently working as a literary manager, representing both established writers and writers who are new to feature and television writing. Recently Draizin’s client Carol Barbee wrote the pilot RAISING DION which Netflix has picked up for ten episodes. Michael B. Jordan co-stars and produces with Macro. Barbee is the showrunner.
