Pitch Tips

Characters are very important to me, but also concept and the presentation of the story.

About Your Host

DAMON LANE has spent more than nineteen years in the film business, with concentrated experience in sales, development & acquisitions, financing and management. His career began at Capitol Films, working in film financing for five years before moving on to development and acquisitions, at a time when the company collaborated on such successful films as LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN, ALPHA DOG and CREEP.

In 2005, Damon moved to the US and worked as an acquisitions consultant for Velvet Octopus and SC Films International. During his time there, the companies sold and or co-produced/financed eleven films, including LEGION, S. DARKO and THE ROMANTICS.

In 2009, Damon joined Zero Gravity management as a manager/producer handling numerous writers and directors, as well as developing and producing in-house projects, for the fast growing Los Angeles, New York and London based entity. He left Zero Gravity in 2014 to focus on producing with Next Wednesday Films.

As a producer, Damon worked on LOCKED IN, a thriller set in Boston with Ben Barnes, Sarah Roemer and Eliza Dushku and ANOMALY with Noel Clarke.

Currently he has many projects in development including a crime podcast with writer/director/producer Josh Zeman (THE KILLING SEASON, CROPSEY); the feature THE LIFE WE BURY with Riverstone Pictures financing, with novelist Allen Eskens adapting from his own book; THE DUKE OF HAVANA with Oscar winner Geoffrey Fletcher (PRECIOUS) adapting the true story of Cuban baseball player Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez; a sci-fi drama with director Michael Thelin (EMELIE) and the action thriller IN THE DREAM, with director Shane Abbess (INFINI, GABRIEL).

Over the course of nearly 20 years in multiple areas of media he has acquired a deep knowledge of film financing, development, international sales and co-productions.
