If you said yes to any of these, then an Incubator is just what the doctor ordered! This brand new, four-week class will put you through your development paces and ensure that you get writing on the best foot possible.
Week #1 - Writers will submit concept, logline, character breakdowns, and outline prior to the first week's class for Chris to review. Chris will give verbal feedback this week.
Week #2 - Writers will submit their revised outline prior to this week and Chris will make sure each writer's outline is structurally sound by giving another round of notes to fine tune.
Week #3 - Writers will submit the first act for Chris to give feedback on in this class.
Week #4 - Writers will submit a revised act one and as many pages as they can write prior to this week's class for Chris to review and give verbal feedback on in this class!
Since co-founding the management/production company Fictional Entity in late 2016, Chris Deckard has developed an international clientele that includes writers, directors, actors, and producers.
Chris’ clients have been named to The Black List, The Hit List, The Young & Hungry List, The Blood List and been lauded by the PAGE Awards, The Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Awards, The Australian Writers Guild, and The Australian Directors Guild. His clients have written, directed, starred, and produced in numerous formats, including Features, TV, Virtual Reality, and Podcasts, independently and for companies like Netflix, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros., Amazon, Blumhouse, Comedy Central, TruTV, Super Deluxe, Hallmark, CBS, CryptTV, PopTV, VH1, Facebook, E!, and MSNBC.
Chris has judged script competitions for UCLA and Australians in Film, and was a mentor at the 2017 Stowe Story Labs. He has worked with countless writers through Roadmap and has seen mentees go on to get signed, win competitions, and get optioned.
Prior to Fictional Entity, Chris spent over seven years working with and representing talent at major agencies such as ICM Partners and WME. He has worked closely with traditional and new media buyers to find and develop content for domestic and international audiences. In addition to helping cast and package numerous features and series, he has evaluated thousands of scripts for actors and directors. Chris graduated from Cornell University and earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School.
Immediately after registering, you will receive an Order Confirmation email that serves as the receipt for your registration. In the Order Summary section of this email you will find a link reading "CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS" that will take you to your syllabus, instructions for submitting material (if any), and the link to join the Live Class. Sessions are conducted via video conferencing software ZOOM. You will receive a link to the recording of the session via email following the live session.
Payment plans are available for most multi-week classes. For 4-week programs, your balance will be due the second week of class. For longer programs, the balance will be broken up into 3 or 4 payments with the final payment due prior to the final week of class. Please note that you are responsible for the full price of the class even if you decide not to complete the program for any reason.
You may cancel for a full refund up to 72 hrs. prior to the start of the class. Cancellations requested after this deadline will be ineligible for refunds.
