Pitch Tips

I love learning a lot about the characters before diving into the story. Visuals and comps are also really helpful if you have them, but not needed!

About Your Host

Celeste Hellman grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area at the beginning of the dot-com-boom. She was raised by a single-mother – a former punk rocker turned marketing VP in cyber security. Somehow the Gilmore Girls predicted their lives before they happened including the family dynamics, although Celeste and her mom claim to be very different from Lorelai and Rory. She received her bachelor’s degree in Film & Television Production and a minor in Comedy from USC School of Cinematic Arts. While there, she was selected to be the showrunner and executive producer for their highly regarded Multi-Camera Sitcom class where students write, producer, and shoot an original sitcom pilot in front of a live studio audience. The kind of stories she loves to read are comedic female/LGBTQ+ driven coming of age stories about dysfunctional/chosen families and challenging the status quo. Or any similar mashup. She currently works at the literary agency Culture Creative Entertainment as an executive assistant to the partners. They are currently looking for diverse, female, and LGBTQ+ clients. Before that, she was an assistant to the SVP of Production at AGBO, the Russo Brother’s production company.
