Roadmap Exclusive Interview!

Aside from a well-introduced world/hero, is there anything else you look for in the first 8-15 pages of a script?

I look for an enticing teasing, whether that be some well-done dialogue or some set up for the plot that requires me to know what the pages moving forward look like.

If you had to describe a writer’s “voice” in a few words, how would you describe it?

Subjectively, a writer's voice I look for is one that feels authentic. The writer doesn’t need to base their characters completely off their own lives but there need to be moments and experiences that I can read and feel like this was written by someone who has been through some form of that moment or who really crafted a genuine moment that someone can relate to.

If you could have been part of any movie or TV show that's been out in the past 2 years, what would it be?

Pitch Tips

Concept first through structure. Start with the basic logline, set up the world, and then guide me through the story in broad strokes through the character. You don't have to tell me everything that happens in the script.
