Writers will submit concept, logline, basic outline draft and any character breakdowns for their fiction podcast to Jacquelyn before workshop, which she will work from through the workshop.
Week #1: "The medium is the message."
Crafting a tale told to ONE, specifying a story for audio
Listener Endowment-how to elevate imaginative thinking for your story
Examples of radio drama/fiction pods + assignments for research, writing exercises
Week #2: "Grappling with Gestalt"
Deep diving into your own mythos-what’s personal in the yarn you are weaving?
Stating your thesis elegantly
Theme/premise/controlling idea
Unifying all these elements of your story within your soundscape
Writing exercises and assignments around this theme
Week #3: "Come to the campfire"
Dialogue for the audio drama--stripping the story to its most essential compelling elements and empowering the human voice
Exercises and experimentations with writing dialogue and monologue for your podcast
Week #4: "In the mind of the beholder"
Hands-on with the first pages of each writer’s script, hearing it out-loud, one-on-one feedback, tools to strengthen, further assignments for the future

Joining Sessions: Live sessions will be conducted via video conferencing software ZOOM. If you have never used ZOOM before: when you click the link, the ZOOM software will automatically download. Once the download is complete, you will be joined into the meeting. All classes will be recorded & distributed so that you may refer back to them at a later date.
Code of Conduct: Roadmap Writers programs are for training purposes only. Executives are working with Roadmap in a consulting capacity independently from their respective companies. Developing material with an executive does not mean you are developing material for their company. Please do not ask the executive to review additional material or for business or personal contact information. Keep all conversations focused on feedback and advice. Any writer causing an executive to feel uncomfortable or pressured to request or review material outside the scope of the program will result in instant termination from the program and disqualify the writer from working with Roadmap in the future. Unless otherwise instructed, do not contact the executive directly by any means outside the scope of the program.
