Have you ever seen an animated film (either a feature or short) or an amazing animated TV series and wondered to yourself, how can I write something that can turn into that? After all, if you’ve been writing for live action this whole time, animation seems like an entirely new, impossible mountain to climb. Should you develop animation differently? Do you have to be an artist? And what if you write the script and then you don’t have any way to get it out there?
Worry no more! We’ll answer all this and more!
This 90 Minute Webinar Will Cover:
Courtney Madincea is graduate of Chapman University, with a BFA in Film Production and Creative Literature. During her four years at college, she interned at four different studios. Courtney worked in the Story Department at New Regency (GONE GIRL, 12 YEARS A SLAVE, BIRDMAN) doing coverage and script prep, then moved over to the Motion Picture Group and Development Department at Lionsgate Entertainment (HUNGER GAMES, DIVERGENT, SAW franchise) helping them cull through YA franchises, doing coverage and helping with premieres. Courtney moved on to the Creative Affairs department of Paramount Pictures (ZOOLANDER 2, 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION) under the President of Production at the time helping with office administration and script coverage.
Finally, she tried out for the world of animation and loved it when she landed an internship with the production team at DreamWorks Animation's THE BOSS BABY. There, she aided the editorial, story, layout and art departments until she graduated. From graduation, she continued on at DreamWorks Television Animation on ALL HAIL KING JULIEN working as an episodic production assistant. She put in almost a year on that show until Disney Animation had an opening on WRECK-IT RALPH 2 and she’s been with them ever since!
