JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is #1 with $60M (Million), a domestic total now of $264.7M, and a worldwide total of $932.3M as the film marches past the billion threshold by the end of next week. Produced for $170M plus marketing costs, this is a very big hit for Universal, with the third and final part of the trilogy already set.
INCREDIBLES 2 is #2 with $45.5M, a domestic total of $439.7M, and a very early $646.8M global with most of international yet to roll out. By the end of next weekend it should handily eclipse FINDING DORY ($486.2M) as the top Pixar film ever domestically, and should also be able to hit the $1 Billion mark worldwide by the time all international territories are finished, another big win for Disney.
SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO opened at #3 with $19M, and an early $27.4M worldwide. Produced for $35M plus marketing, this will definitely be profitable, and there are already plans for a third film which would conclude what is said to be a trilogy.
UNCLE DREW opened at #4 with $15.5M, ahead of tracking, and with a budget said to be in the high-teens, combined with an "A" Cinemascore from audiences, this should have no problem becoming profitable for Lionsgate.
OCEAN'S 8 slid to #5 with $8M, a domestic total now of $114.7M, and $209.7M worldwide. Produced for $70M plus marketing, this has become a very solid hit for Warner Bros., and likely will see a sequel, as the Ocean's brand continues to be strong domestic and internationally.
TAG is #6 with $5.6M, a domestic total now of $40.8M, and an early $48.2M worldwide. Produced for $28M plus marketing costs, this film is quietly marching towards profitability thanks to strongholds and what will be an "okay" international run.
DEADPOOL 2 slipped to #7 with $3.4M, a domestic total of $310.3M, and an impressive $719M worldwide, making this $110M film very profitable for Fox.
SANJU opened at #8 with $2.5M domestic, while worldwide is $24.7M.
SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY fell to #9 with $2.2M, a domestic total of $207.2M, and $368.8M globally, far from what it needs to be break-even for the studio, which won't happen.
WON'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR is #10 with $2.2M, and a total now of $7.4M.
Next weekend sees debuts for ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, and THE FIRST PURGE, each looking to connect with their audiences over the 4th of July holiday weekend as the summer's hot streak at the box office continues.
